Allow mapping keys to a sequence of commands

Is there any interest in allowing keymaps to perform a sequence of commands, instead of just one? The syntax could be something like map <key> command1; command2. Coming from Emacs, I'm quite used to setting quickmarks whenever I make big jumps in files (e.g. searching, going to pages, jumping to the top/bottom of documents), which could easily be achieved when chaining was allowed. I think people could find other interesting time savers however. (qutebrowser for example also allows you to do this)
