For the moment there is in Zathura an Index mode, but it’s a mode, it completely hide the ridden document and take the full width of the windows.
I was thanking of a side bar witch only take ~20% of the window, for example. I made a mokup for this:
![mokup](/uploads/c0389b7c348d5ed5397ef827706cbbb5/mokup.png)
So, as in the mokup, it would be nice if the pdf document was centered in the no-index zone
And, it would be great if we could navigate in this sidebar without changing the mode, just by adding a prefix key to index mode bindings, like, for example <kbd>alt</kbd>.
This is an example I made (but it could be something else):
<dl>
<dt><kbd>alt</kbd>+<kbd>k</kbd>, <kbd>alt</kbd>+<kbd>j</kbd></dt> <dd>Move to upper or lower entry</dd>
<dt><kbd>alt</kbd>+<kbd>l</kbd></dt> <dd>Expand entry</dd>

For example, if I take the following pdf file:

And the goal is to show only the blue area witch is the only important area, and we will get a rendering like this:
![trimed](/uploads/d77e94b6a7811118c63331ebf31185e3/trimed.png)
For this feature, we can use the <kbd>x</kbd> key binding, because <kbd>x</kbd> isn’t used by another feature in Zathura and the X letter remember the scissor form :scissors:. Then, the <kbd>x</kbd> key will toggle the trimed and the no-trimed mode.https://git.pwmt.org/pwmt/zathura/-/issues/30enable binding left mouse button to scrolling to enable scrolling on converti...2018-11-02T10:27:52+01:00Michael Roseenable binding left mouse button to scrolling to enable scrolling on convertible tablets via the touchscreenhttps://git.pwmt.org/pwmt/zathura/-/issues/5Allow showing quickmarks2018-11-03T08:55:28+01:00TomAllow showing quickmarksZathura allows setting and retrieving ["quickmarks" ](https://git.pwmt.org/pwmt/zathura/blob/master/doc/man/_bindings.txt#L63-66) with `mX` and `'X`, however once a user has set a quickmark, they must remember its character in order to r...Zathura allows setting and retrieving ["quickmarks" ](https://git.pwmt.org/pwmt/zathura/blob/master/doc/man/_bindings.txt#L63-66) with `mX` and `'X`, however once a user has set a quickmark, they must remember its character in order to retieve it. It does not happen *anything*, except for zathura not being responding to any further key presses. Mouse input, like scrolling, still works.
# Consideration
I did the binding wrong. I also added `map [presentation] h scroll up` to my `~/.config/zathura/zathurarc` and pressed `F5`. I was now in presentation mode. Pressing `h` scrolls up. Fine. Pressing `p` results in not being able to do anything.
# Fun Fact
Binding `map [normal] p toggle_presentation` works like a charm, but it seems not to be documented, neither in zathura's manpage, nor in zathurarc's manpage.

The syntax could be something like `map <key> command1; command2`. Coming from Emacs, I'm quite used to setting quickmarks whenever I make big jumps in files (e.g. searching, going to pages, jumping to the top/bottom of documents), which could easily be achieved when chaining was allowed. I think people could find other interesting time savers however. I've seen it once in here: https://youtu.be/SyQmWtWYERo?t=188 (not the auto-scrolling feature, but the scroll visualization)
In short, it's a way to have scrolling but yet don't have the pixels moving (changing their positions).
(I'll try to describe the behaviour in a very particular use-case, where the view is at the zooming of a single page display):
Instead of having a fixed view where all text/pixels move vertically, have two separate views: an upper and a lower one.
The upper one shows the next page, and the lower one shows the current page.
They are always fixed, but their height may change according to the "scroll" position.
Initially, the lower view takes 100% of the height.
As the scroll position increases, the upper view (next page) start increasing, until it gets to 100% and then it becomes the "lower view", and actual upper view becomes yet the next page, at 0% height.
Would you know if this is possible, or could you by any change point me into the right direction?
(regarding other software, or which structures would need to be changed in order for this to be implemented..)

IMHO It would be useful to improve the bookmark functionality.
We can save bookmarks between sessions by :bmark nameofbookmark.
We can list them with :blist (it gives the name of the bookmarks with the corresponding page)
We can't easily jump to a given bookmark. At this time, we have to list the bookmarks, and then go the right page.
Suggestion:
Create a function "bjump" that takes the name of the bookmark as argument (with completion).
Example:
I have a 'bib' bookmark for a given file.
I open the file.
I strike the key for the bjump function.
I strike "b" (for the "bib" bookmark) and then <TAB>, it completes for the name "bib".
I strike <Enter> and jump to the right place.
Anyway, please specifies where the bookmarks are stored in the man page.

I use LaTeX-beamer to realize slides presentation. Displaying it, Zathura miss one feature : to allow dual screen presentation. In this mode, the public see slides and the conference speaker see his notes about slides.
Beamer can build a pdf with double width pages. Left-half is for the slide and right-half for notes. So the pdf-viewer needs to cut each page into two parts and to display this parts on the dedicated screen...
I hope it will come soon. Or someone knows a turn-around ?

Hi :D,
First of all, thanks a lot for developing this soft, I love it!
I wanned to know if it could be possible to add a feature to this, such that it could be possible to
fill some forms. It's actually the last thing that holds me back to adobe acrobat.
I know that pdfs weren't initially intended to be edited, but I have to do it so often that I don't want to
always print the paper, fill it with a pen and scan it...
I'm also ready to implement this feature, it's just that I think that it could be faster if someone that already knows this software could help/guide me.
Thanks in advance for your answers,
Rhylx
