zathura either continues to fall back to the default alias in `monospace` (Liberation Mono in my case) or in some cases discards the configuration entirely and suddenly flips to a white background. The font in question is an .otb bitmap but other fonts in the same format (Terminus, f.e.) work fine. I've sifted through bug reports / forums / man pages and haven't found anything that resembles my issue so I'm a bit confused. The same behaviour persists between configuration via zathurarc and from command prompt at runtime.

(Or at least have an option to do this?) Quite often if you have multiple windows viewing the same PDF on different virtual desktops, `zathura --synctex-forward` chooses to open the PDF on an instance in a different desktop. This is fine; but it would be nice if it would also raise that window (or at least demand attention) so the user knows which window to look at.

I am using zathura along with a latex compiler to compile and view pdfs. I used the zathura-pdf-poppler package and also the zathura-pdf-mupdf package but still get the same problem that is why I believe it could be an issue with zathura itself. So the issue is when I compile a new page or remove a page zathura crashes giving a segmentation fault error. I am not sure how to fix this problem and I do know that other pdf viewers do not have this problem either. Please feel free to ask for any additional information, I am quite new to this and do not know exactly what information to provide. I have zathura 0.4.8-1 and zathura-pdf-poppler 0.3.0-1 binary packages on arch linux
Kind regards,
ShiFeng
EDIT 1) I have git cloned/built and installed the latest versions from github for both packages and uninstalled the previous binary packages I had. However the problem still persists.https://git.pwmt.org/pwmt/zathura/-/issues/251Zathura Failed to Acquire Session Bus and Displaying Nothing2022-08-20T14:12:44+02:00Xiao YuZathura Failed to Acquire Session Bus and Displaying NothingCurrently I am on:

- macOS 12.0.1
- zathura 0.4.5
- girara 0.3.6
- pdf-poppler 0.3.0
It took my quite a long time to install zathura, since somehow using `brew install zathura` returned an error on some function not accepting positional arguments. Upon researching this seems to be an issue with `meson@0.60.0`, so I switched to compile and install from source using `meson@0.58.0` (which worked). The only other steps I had to change is to comment out the line in `/opt/homebrew/opt/meson/bin/meson`:
```c
#sys.exit(load_entry_point('meson==0.59.0', 'console_scripts', 'meson')())
```
then installation is done. Yet obviously it is bugged because when I enter `zathrua` in command line, it gave me a transparent window, essentially displaying nothing.

This means that copy-pasting technical text such as shellscripts and programming code, does not work in your PDF viewer and this greatly restrains the use of your whole program.
According to the tests made using PDFs produced by pdflatex using the package accsupp, the replacement text support seems to be unreliable at the moment for copy and paste. Those tests are available on the referenced accsupp github page in the end of this text.
We kindly request better support of the replacement text support, because the copy and paste directly from the PDF document is not reliable.

I've been using Zathura with Vim on my Mac and its working great, but the only thing is that zathura doesn't seems to read zathurarc.
I have one placed on /etc/ , /.config/zathura/ , /local/share/zathura (the last is where zathura saves the commands history)
I want it to launch with specific recolor settings and window size, but nothing happens.
the viewer launches fine, and if I input the commands in the command line of zathura the colours change like they should.
here is the output of `zathura -l debug test.pdf`

Nothing I write in it seems to take any effect.
After many tries, I have noticed that there actually is a way to make it read the config file:
- `sudo dnf install zathura zathura-pdf-mupdf`
- DON'T OPEN ZATHURA
- `cd ~/.config`
- `mkdir zathura`
- `cd zathura`
- `vim zathurarc`
- write your settings
- open zathura on a random pdf
However, there are many issues even after having made it to read zathurarc:
1. the screen is blurred for about half a second after having zoomed in or out
2. when recolor is active, after having zoomed in or out, in the brief blurred period of time I was reporting in 1., the page is not recolored
2. the font in the bar at the bottom with the file name and the page number does not change, whatever I set in the system settings (AND in zathurarc)
And, unfortunately, after uninstalling zathura, reinstalling it and not following the procedure on top, it stops reading zathurarc and keeps not reading it even after reinstalling it and following the procedure.

It does not work, I have only 2 pages per row when I use toggle_page_mode (with the appropriate keybinding).
